Mac OSX: Disabling the Firewall

Make sure your system firewall is disabled when testing FMTouch. To disable your firewall go to System Preferences -> Security -> Firewall. Then select "Allow all incoming connections". Only after you have everything else fully working, you can bring the firewall level to only allow some applications to connect and add FileMaker to the list.

If you don't have the firewall under security and you are using OSX 10.4 Tiger, then make sure the firewall service is disabled from your System Preferences -> Sharing dialog.

At this point you should be able to connect by selecting your Mac from the list of computers on the FMTouch screen. Additionally if you have any third party firewall software, you must allow incoming connections on port 8887.

Remember to restart the FileMaker Pro application after you disable the firewall.
